After starting high school, Chen Qinlei and Zhou Yang end up in the same class. The pair of bickering frenemies hit it off from the very first day, always teasing and tussling with each other. Gradually, Zhou Yang falls for Chen Qinlei, but no matter how obvious his hints are, she remains as dense as a block of wood and never understands how he feels. In the end, Zhou Yang chooses to hide his feelings.
Then Chen Qinlei slowly realizes that she may feel more than friendship for Zhou Yang. Whenever she sees another girl getting along with him, she feels a pang of jealousy and discomfort. But afraid that confessing might lead to rejection and cost her their friendship, Chen Qinlei keeps her feelings bottled up and loves him in silence.

Seven years later, a reunion brings Chen Qinlei and Zhou Yang together again, and at last they become a couple.
