The First Minister's Wife Is the Ruler

Blurb: Ruan Qing comes from a family of doctors. After accidentally falling off a cliff while hiking, she opens her eyes to find she has transmigrated to the fictional Great Ji dynasty. She also unexpectedly becomes bound to the "Ruler System." She can only stay alive if she turns her target into the chief minister. But her cultivation project is none other than Lu Xun, the number-one wastrel in Jiangzhou, who spends his days cockfighting and horse racing and never studies! To stay alive, she draws up a study schedule and personally supervises him, determined to develop him in every way: virtue, intellect, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. She's even forced into the "discipline your husband with a rod" mode! Lu Xun is of noble birth. He's not only fabulously wealthy, but also has a grandfather who holds high office in the capital and an aunt who is a high-ranking imperial consort. After eighteen years of eating, drinking, and having fun, he never expected to be brought to heel by a woman. She hounds him all day to study and improve himself, and the moment he slacks off, she chases him around with a ruler, beating him until he's running for his life. Thinking back to the day they first met, when she had been pale and so delicate she looked ready to faint, he can't help regretting his assumptions. She really is delicate, but what happened to her being timid and easy to push around? Later, Lu Xun passes the imperial examinations with top honors at every level, is appointed chief minister, and becomes someone revered by all the people. A colleague asks him, "What's the secret to your success?" The corners of his mouth lift, his charming peach-blossom eyes brimming with elegance. He answers leisurely, "I chose a good wife!"
