Characters: A merciless, wicked Guanyin versus a kind-hearted, considerate King of Hell.
A case of dereliction of duty entangles the Eastern Depot's head eunuch with the commander of the Imperial Guards.
As the two investigate and solve the case together, they discover that the head eunuch, rumored to be a merciless villain, is actually a compassionate living Bodhisattva; and the commander, famed for letting a thousand households pass, is actually a King of Hell who kills without blinking.
Wei Xin has spent years lying low to avenge himself. Just as he is finally ready to make his move, an old eunuch stands in his way.
He wants to kill the emperor, and the old eunuch stops him.
He wants to overthrow the realm, and the old eunuch stops him.
Only then does he realize that to take over the realm, he must first take the old eunuch. So he gets close to him, teases him, sleeps in his bed, and claims him for himself.
Wei Xin vows: I will make this old eunuch kneel at my feet and call me his ancestor!
In reality, Wei Xin clings to the old eunuch's leg without a shred of dignity: Ayun, please forgive me. I really know I was wrong.
On the imperial bed, Wei Xin counts the scars on Zhao Xuying's body. "Ayun, your body is already covered in wounds. I'm the only one who treasures it."
Zhao Xuying smiles. "I'm honored."
