Thank You for Loving Me!

Yu Le is 24, an outstanding student with impeccable credentials, bright and beautiful, in the prime of her youth.

Her love life has just taken a tumble over her ex-boyfriend. It was not exactly a crippling blow, but she certainly came away bruised and battered.

She is going home for summer vacation, ready to be a good daughter and take some time to lick her wounds.

But before she can even settle in, an uncle who has appeared out of nowhere drags her right back into the emotional abyss.

The pit is huge. Yu Le can only hold on tight to herself and cling to the person beside her.

Yu Tianci is a middle-aged man who has weathered countless storms and stood firm through them all. He never expected to be pinned to the bottom of a pit and thoroughly ground down by a young woman.

A dead tree blooms again, and flowers fill the air with fragrance.

Little scene:

One day, Yu Le is mooching a meal from Yu Tianci and his friend. They start talking about the man Yu Le has been pursuing lately.

Yu Le asks Yu Tianci to give his opinion.

With no way out, he says:

Yu Tianci cannot stop the words from tumbling out of his mouth. "That man is actually pretty good, mature and charming."

Yu Le: "What else?"

Yu Tianci recalls how Yu Le praised him last time. "He's tall and strong, and makes you feel safe."

Yu Le: "What else?"

Yu Tianci: "..."

Yu Le: "Come on, say it."

Yu Tianci: "..."

Yu Le sniffles, and it seems like tears are about to fall.

A trace of awkwardness crosses Yu Tianci's face. His voice grows much quieter. "Even his f-farts smell sweet."

Yu Le (inner thoughts): I haven't smelled them, but I don't think his farts would bother me.

Yu Tianci (inner thoughts): So embarrassing. I want to cry.

A few notes:

1. Older man, younger woman, 14-year age gap, no blood relation.

2. One-on-one romance, a little sweet. I'm the author's own mom, so don't worry.
