[All Dazai] A Goodbye That Never Came

The world is always happy to welcome geniuses, but it never knows how to treat them.

There is no doubt that Dazai Osamu truly was a genius.

Everyone dreams of becoming a genius, but they don't realize that a genius is like a shooting star falling to earth, destined to burn brightly and illuminate their era.

Dazai Osamu saved many people, but he could never save himself.

And yet, everyone trusts him and hopes he'll stay alive.

Sometimes, just staying alive is enough to save someone.

Note:

#I've never thought of the real-life Dazai Osamu and the fictional Dazai Osamu as two completely unrelated people. There are many similarities between their personalities. (That's why lines from Dazai Osamu's novels sometimes appear in this story. There aren't many, but I think some of them fit his state of mind, so I've included them.)

#Although the blurb sounds serious, this is actually a sweet little story, though not mindless fluff. It's about the ways each person tries to keep Dazai Osamu here, and the tenderness and kindness that are theirs alone to give.

#The extra chapters may include darkened-all-Dazai and locked-room scenes, as well as characters from Jujutsu Kaisen. The main story features only the cast of Bungo Stray Dogs, so it probably won't be very long.

Theme: I don't want someone so gentle to have no reason to stay in this world.
