Ji Wenxing, a veteran single-player gamer, was invited to take part in an internal full-dive game beta test at Xingyao. Of all the specially invited players, he was the only one to perfectly win over every NPC and earn the title of Love Master.
A year later, Xingyao released the world’s first full-dive online game, Ascend to Immortality.
But Ji Wenxing never expected that all the NPCs he had once won over would become powerful bosses in the game, each ruling their own territory and believing he had seduced them and then abandoned them.
Ji Wenxing happily logged in, ready to try out the full-dive game, only to be cornered at the spawn point by a crowd of NPCs.
The black-robed Demon Lord, reputed to have no desires, stood amid a pile of player corpses. “I’m the only one who gets to take your life.”
The Ming Emperor, famed for seeing through people’s hearts, removed his mask in front of him. “If you’re willing to come with me, I can give up all my wealth and empire.”
The white-haired, white-robed holy monk knelt before him. “Buddha saves all living beings, but I only want to save you.”
Ji Wenxing trembled in a corner, surrounded by bosses. “Your System is bugged! Why do the NPCs remember me?”
The NPCs in Ascend to Immortality were all unbelievably handsome, but every one of them already had a Dao companion and was utterly devoted to them. Trying to win them over by force was tantamount to suicide, leaving countless players frustrated and sighing.
Demon Lord: “He is kindhearted. Even someone like me, he was willing to save.”
Ming Emperor: “He is so talented and graceful, dancing with a sword in hand after getting drunk on the Golden Terrace, captivating everyone.”
Holy Monk: “He is quirky and clever. Even if Buddha himself came, he couldn’t bear to scold him.”
Players: “The ‘he’ you’re talking about seems to have the same name as you.”
Ji Wenxing: “It’s a coincidence! We just have the same name!”
