The Powerful Eunuch

A sudden upheaval: the late emperor died, and his five-year-old son ascended the throne. The glorious Liu family, with a hundred years of history, was accused of treason and executed down to the last member. Liu Jingyu was the only young master spared the death penalty. His hands, once skilled at playing the zither and wielding a sword, were ruined, and he became the lowest-ranking eunuch in the palace. Scholars prized refinement and looked down on palace eunuchs, especially powerful eunuchs who controlled the government, like Fang Xiaoyi. Liu Jingyu never imagined that one day he would kneel beside Fang Xiaoyi, call him godfather, and beg for his protection. Rumor had it that Grand Eunuch Fang was cruel and vicious, and that every few days, the bodies of men and women, cold and lifeless, were carried out of his room. Then Liu Jingyu opened his eyes and found himself in the arms of a man wreathed in cold air. The infamous Director of the Eastern Depot rasped, "I'm sorry. I came too late." Later, he acknowledged Fang Xiaoyi as his godfather, serving as the little emperor's study companion by day and the director's little wife by night. With a golden bell on his wrist and a red cord around his neck, outsiders assumed he had lost his dignity and debased himself willingly. They didn't know that each night, the man tenderly nursed his frail body back to health, cuddling him close and showering him with affection. The man's dark eyes were no longer gloomy and obsessive. They held a bottomless tenderness that could drown Liu Jingyu with a single glance. Only then did Liu Jingyu understand that rumors couldn't always be trusted. [Highlight: Read at your own risk] Fang Xiaoyi was infamous for his cruelty, and everyone thought the little eunuch wouldn't live long. Minister: Has the little eunuch taken away by the director turned cold yet? Eastern Depot staff: Not yet. It's cold in winter, so the director has him in his arms, warming his hands and feet. [Important warning: The receiver is a real eunuch. Fang is the top, Liu is the bottom.] Note from 2021.9.30 Theme: There is always a way through.
