Cinnabar Locked Away

Synopsis Year Ten of Qingyuan Xiao Wan'er, the late emperor's widow, stood atop the city wall in a resplendent red gown. Looking at the current emperor as he approached step by step below, she smiled sweetly. "Qi Wenyuan, take one more step and I'll jump." Qi Wenyuan suppressed his fury and said, one word at a time, "Wan'er, come down first. Whatever you want to say, we can talk about it." Xiao Wan'er: "What is there to talk about? Qi Wenyuan, I've had enough of your torment, day and night." "Besides, you should be calling me Mother Empress." With that, she swept her long sleeves aside and leaped from the city wall. Snow fell thickly. Her dark hair streamed in every direction, and her bright red figure resembled a blooming red spider lily beside the Bridge of Helplessness, before the Three Lives Stone. "Qi Jingchen, at last I can join you in death." The current emperor, Qi Wenyuan x the late emperor's widow, Xiao Wan'er Content warnings: - Not a first-time pairing. Bad ending. - The female lead is the late emperor's second empress. When the male lead was still crown prince, he called her "Mother Empress." - The female lead never loves the male lead. She only loves the late emperor, who is already dead. The male lead's love is unrequited, and he seizes his "inheritance" by force. - The female lead was very young when she married the late emperor, the same age as the male lead. - Extremely melodramatic. The author couldn't find anything to read, so wrote this for herself. Just enjoy it if you like it! =w=! Theme: Strive for peace and create a brilliant future together
