Chen Yiyuan wakes up one day and discovers that he died of sudden cardiac arrest.
A grim reaper tells him that because he did countless good deeds in life, he can come back to life if he absorbs enough yang energy within 180 days.
He gives up on coming back to life in zero seconds. If I'm alive, I have to go to work. Who'd want to be alive when they can be dead?
After giving up on resurrection, Chen Yiyuan wanders the human world as he waits to be reincarnated. He helps old ladies cross the street, chases off perverts harassing people, scares animal abusers unconscious, and helps the grim reapers capture wandering ghosts who refuse to be reincarnated.
On the seventh day after his death, top-tier star Wen Ye comes to visit his grave.
Wen Ye became a top-tier star the moment he debuted at sixteen. At seventeen, he entered the film industry and swept awards at home and abroad. Even after all that, he's still a high school boy, brimming with yang energy.
Chen Yiyuan: ??? When did Wen Ye even meet him?
To figure it out, Chen Yiyuan starts following Wen Ye and sneaks a little yang energy from him to feel better.
He discovers that Wen Ye's lock screen password is his birthday, the photo on his bedside table is his ID photo, and the stacks of unsent letters in his drawer are all addressed to him. Wen Ye has even set up a memorial tablet for him in the most luxurious room, inscribed: Beloved Chen Yiyuan.
Chen Yiyuan: ??? He's Wen Ye's beloved?
Later, Chen Yiyuan discovers that he's still somewhat famous in the living world. It's just that 999 out of 1,000 people hope he will never be reincarnated.
Except Wen Ye.
He wants Chen Yiyuan to come back, back to the human world.
