Ling Yi was the coolest, most swaggering guy at Shunshui Middle School, the school's poster boy, enjoying his moment in the spotlight.
One day, while playing soccer, he kicked the ball out of bounds. He raised his chin at the cool, beautiful girl reading nearby. "Bookworm, kick the ball back."
Yi Huan looked up and pointed at herself. "Me?"
Ling Yi gave her a wicked grin. "Yeah, you. Miss, kick the ball over here."
She stood up and kicked it straight into his slender ankle. Ling Yi doubled over and collapsed in pain.
That officially started their feud!
The next time they met, he had gone from the bottom of the class to the top, an inspiring example of a student who had turned things around.
Rumors spread around school that Boss Ling had been studying day and night, all to get into the top class and avenge his humiliation.
But no one got to see a showdown between the two top dogs. Instead, the school website posted photographic proof.
A clueless underclassman cornered Yi Huan in a back alley. Boss Ling kicked him away, put an arm around her, and walked off with her.
The underclassman got back up in a fury. "Who are you to butt in?"
Ling Yi curled his lip and shot him a cold look. "Your ancestor!"
The underclassman rolled up his sleeves to fight, but his friend stopped him. "Bro, he really is our ancestor."
As the sun set, Boss Ling pinned her against a brick wall. "Why do you think I worked so damn hard?"
Yi Huan looked at his dark circles and teased, "To become a panda."
Ling Yi was so mad his heart hurt. "Become a panda, my ass!"
I just wanted to be a little closer to you, then a little closer still. I hid my feelings until they became impossible to control.

Blurb for Shooting Star Wish [Now Available]
Actress x Male Police Officer
Kind-hearted beauty who pretends to be cheerful x Steady, handsome, old-school professional
Blurb One:
Popular star Gu Qianyue needs a bodyguard after receiving a threatening package. Police detective Ying Chen is forced to take leave after being injured. The two seem like the least likely people to ever cross paths, but they get acquainted and gradually fall for each other. But when the truth comes to light, where will their relationship end up?
Blurb Two:
The first time Ying Chen saw Gu Qianyue, she was putting on makeup. It seemed to be a wedding scene. Her vivid red bridal gown accentuated her lovely figure, and beneath her phoenix crown was a face of matchless, icy beauty. Someone led him over for her to look at.
Gu Qianyue's phoenix eyes tilted upward. Ying Chen clearly saw the complicated emotions shift in her eyes. Then she forced a smile and said coolly to the person beside her, "I don't want him. Show him out."
Afterward, her agent approached him to ask him to be her bodyguard. Ying Chen studied the prank package for a long time. She watched him just as long, her gaze hazy, as if she were looking through him and thinking of another man.
Ying Chen stood up, his tall frame perfectly proportioned. Gu Qianyue had to tilt her head far back to see his slightly furrowed brow. He turned sideways, gesturing for her to leave. "I'm not taking this job."
Blurb Three:
Much later, he would gaze up at the serene moon, again and again. He would also clasp his hands together and make a wish upon a shooting star, wishing that the young woman he loved would live a safe and happy life.
Reader's Notes:
1. This is not a substitute romance. The heroine never mistakes the hero for someone else.
2. Romance is the focus, with suspense as a secondary element. Expected length: around 200,000 words. Happy ending.
3. There will be a little angst, but most of the story is sweet.
4. The hero is six years older than the heroine.
He Is Like a Warm Breeze Over the City [Complete]
At seventeen, Su Zhen arrived in Beijing. She looked up at the enormous billboard with the young man on it. He looked vivid and cool, his expression unreadable. Su Zhen took one last look and said goodbye to him in her heart: A Nian, goodbye.
At twenty-four, after struggling her way up, she had become the lobby manager of a hotel in the capital. They had not seen each other in eight years. The young man now seemed even colder, with an aura that warned strangers to keep away. One glance was all it took for him to recognize her.
He pursued her with clear intent, taking ground inch by inch. She retreated step by step until there was nowhere left to go. Then, suddenly, he changed tactics. When she was helpless, he appeared before her and wrapped his arms around her. His whole presence was cool, yet her heart softened.
He told her, "Sis, this is when you're supposed to cry, so I can feel sorry for you."
Su Zhen's hands were icy. She clenched them tightly, then finally burst into tears.
The day their relationship was exposed, news about Su Zhen flooded the internet. People doxxed her, digging up photos and all the mess in her family life.
Mu Yang's fans defended him: That's her? Some nobody from the thirty-eighth tier. Our idol wouldn't be so blind.
Then that evening, the trending topic read:
Fang Munian: I was the one who pursued her. It took everything I had to win her over.
When Su Zhen stood on the world's most prestigious stage and won the Quyi Award, considered the highest honor in the piano world, following Fang Munian, tears filled her eyes. Yet she had only one thing to say: "He is like a warm breeze sweeping over the city, gently caressing my whole world."
A cozy winter romance about a long-awaited reunion.
An older woman-younger man romance with a three-year age gap.
Forthcoming novel: An Unparalleled Summer
After failing the college entrance exam, all the images Xia Yi had of Xu Wei remained only in her memories. If she couldn't have a chance to stand beside him, it was better not to disturb him and only make herself sad.
Years later, when she ran into Xu Wei again on a bus, Xia Yi realized how terribly wrong she had been. Since fate had given her a second chance, she had to seize it with all her might.
Xia Yi did seize it, only to discover that she was still terribly wrong. The young man always stood at the summit, while she could only look up at him.
Until Xu Wei told her, "Your biggest mistake is making up all these stories in your head by yourself. Why didn't you just come and ask me?"
That summer, and even now, she wasn't the only one who was lost in love.
The hero was rumored to have had a girlfriend in high school, but that was all a misunderstanding.
Reader's Notes: A secret crush becomes mutual. The romance takes place when both leads are adults. The main setting is the city, with high school memories told in flashbacks.
Other works: Fireflies, He Is Like a Warm Breeze Over the City.
Core theme: Study hard and keep making progress.
