Monster Game [Infinite]

One day in the 27th century, everyone received an anonymous package. For the recipient's eyes only: Your identity is "Monster." Yan Xi, who had spent nine years shut away at home, living on a game pod and nutritional fluids, curled his pale lips and casually tossed the card aside. Of course he was a monster. Did anyone really need to go out of their way to tell him that? From that day on, monsters chosen by the System made the rules of the game and ruled over humanity. Rumor had it that the ten monsters were numbered according to their intelligence. They were a gathering of reclusive geniuses and agents of the devil. They toyed with their foolish kin like God playing with ants. They fought and devoured one another like insatiable gluttons. Only Yan Xi, the most distant and indifferent of these "monsters," never joined in the revelry. He merely watched from a dark corner. The enslaved humans even began to imagine and hope that he was different from the other monsters. At last, he was surrounded and lost all his territory. The monsters, all wearing masks, passed judgment on him: "You're Monster Number Ten, yet all you do is freeload and wait to die. You're a disgrace to monsters." Number One grabbed the frail Yan Xi by the collar and lifted him off the ground. His icy card clattered to the floor and flipped over. Monster Card Number: Zero. As the monsters stared in horror, Yan Xi gazed at them with pitch-black eyes and smiled. "Yes, I'm a good-for-nothing. So, want to play a game with me?" [System: Notice. Monster Number Zero, identity activated.] [System: Monster Number Zero. Territory: 10.08 square meters. Number of slaves: 0.] [System: Monster Number One, eliminated.] [System: Monster Number Zero. Territory: 19.6 million square kilometers. Number of slaves: 2,700,005,309.] Amid the cheers of the crowd, the real monster had entered the game. Theme: Even monsters have a tenderness of their own.
