Stars Fill the Road

1. Who among the wealthy young men of Beicheng didn't know that Su Xingli was Wen Tuchuan's caged bird, his canary, and that she did everything he asked?

Su Xingli had loved Wen Tuchuan for eight years: three years of secret admiration, and five years by his side.

She thought five years would be enough to warm his heart.

But when he announced his engagement in front of all the media, turning her into a laughingstock in Beicheng, she finally understood. It wasn't that his heart couldn't be warmed. He simply had no heart for her at all.

The day she left, a sudden storm swept over Beicheng. The plane she was on was struck by lightning and exploded in midair.

At the engagement banquet, the man was just about to take the stage when someone stopped him and whispered two sentences in his ear. The moment they finished speaking, everyone saw him rush out like a madman, his face pale as paper.

2. It had been two years. Everyone in Beicheng knew that the name Su Xingli was forbidden to Wen Tuchuan. No one dared mention it in front of him.

Some said he seemed to have gone mad. He often looked at a photograph and talked to himself. He ate alone, yet there was always an extra place setting and an extra serving of food across from him.

But Wen Tuchuan alone knew he wasn't mad. He was simply waiting for her. He had never believed she was dead, and always felt she would come back.

And then she really did come back.

When she reappeared, she was the chief designer at Yuan Design, a dark horse who had suddenly emerged in the Chinese design world.

Seeing the man suddenly block her path, she smiled brightly, perfectly composed.
