The world loves to praise its heroes, but it also mourns when they fall into the dust.

A prophecy fulfilled.

-

She spent her whole life burying him, granting him eleven years in this lifetime.

Having already let her down and cast away everything for the sake of the world, this time he would give himself to her, alone and with nothing else.

Rumor had it that the daughter of the Cui family and the young Prince of Nanchen had acted immorally, disregarding their teacher-student relationship and the rules of propriety.

In the end, amid the world's uproar and under the people's scrutinizing gazes, he welcomed the young girl he had watched grow up as his bride, with ten miles of wedding finery.

-

"I, the Prince, have spent my life training troops and preparing for war, and have never asked for anything in return for my military accomplishments. Today, I will act recklessly for once. Though I know this goes against propriety, I will brave the world's condemnation and ask the Empress Dowager to grant me this marriage. I know the world will not accept us, but there is no solution to my feelings. Let the Prince bear all the world's resentment."

"Prince of Nanchen, you have enjoyed unmatched renown and the world's esteem all your life. With these words today, you will ruin your reputation of more than a decade in an instant. You will be condemned for generations for this immoral union. Do you truly intend to bear the endless gossip and eternal infamy? Why put yourself through this?"

"I know all the consequences, but my mind is made up. I beg you to grant me this marriage to Cui Shiyi."
