None of them meet the requirements for being raised.

Just then, a pink-haired hedgehog suddenly appears in the crowd, standing out enough. After all, who would take a fox home and raise it as a dog?!

But the brushing feels great, and the food is really delicious, so Xiao Lai reluctantly moves in and starts evaluating the pink-haired hedgehog.

At first, Xiao Lai [proud] [dismissive]: Since the pink-haired hedgehog is sincere enough, I'll reluctantly accept his offerings.

Later, Xiao Lai [swishing his tail] [swishing his tail furiously]: A successful fox demon takes what he wants by force! We're locked in together for good, Fox Staff Boy!

Years later, the grown-up pink-haired hedgehog dares to summon other wild foxes. The black-haired fox holds down the boy's fingers from behind and moves the coin to "Yes," wearing a half-smile.

"You can, but first explain why you summoned other foxes behind my back."

Darkness shrouds the school. One lightning strike wipes out all the evil spirits. A handsome white-haired man arrives just in time and invites this exceptionally talented boy to join a certain vocational school, only to be rejected.

The head of the Jichi family next door is used to being rejected by one person after another, but he refuses to give up.

As if that weren't enough, there's also a liar claiming to be family, insisting that Yuji join him in accomplishing some grand undertaking.

The old men who gather in a dark room every day to hold meetings even order young Yuji to work for them.

Young Yuji flies on his sword, calm and unruffled, leaving not a cloud behind.

Xiao Lai [rolling up his sleeves]: I'll show you lot what it means to watch like a fox, to be powerful as a fox and tiger, and to use a tiger's might to throw your weight around like a fox!

These shady creeps all deserve to be struck by lightning and reduced to ash!!

Please note:

* Hu Lai is usually called Xiao Lai in the main story. He's a mercurial fox with an eccentric way of thinking. He's a god who controls thunder and knows all kinds of little spells. Don't judge a fox by human standards, and you'll have a much more relaxing reading experience.

* The romance starts after the tiger grows up. The early part is mostly raising a child, meaning the two of them raise each other.

* Xiao Lai's true form is a red fox. Fox Staff is not a typo.

* The CP is the beloved Yuji, and he's younger! The tiger deserves to be pampered!

* Various foxes will appear in this fic, with introductions at the end. As usual, it will include plenty of obscure and older anime.

* This is fanfiction, so some out-of-character moments are inevitable, and there will be plenty of headcanons. Empty your mind and you'll have fun.
