I Just Want to Go to Work

2021/9/11

Qian Qinqin had never been ambitious. Among her classmates from a prestigious university, she was doing the worst.

At a reunion, a former rival from school mocked her: "You have nothing but your looks."

Qian Qinqin seriously objected. "That's not true. Besides being pretty, I own lots of houses. The Qinrui Tower where you work? That's mine."

Her rival was defeated in one blow, while Qin Qinqin reflected that maybe she really should find a job.

She searched from the first floor all the way to the forty-ninth and picked the game company with the decor most to her taste.

As luck would have it, its CEO was her ex-boyfriend.

Severely socially anxious, Qin Qinqin was delighted. "Can I work for you? Somewhere I can wear pretty dresses."

Her ex-boyfriend immediately agreed. "Be my girlfriend, and I'll even wear your dresses."

Qin Qinqin: "..."

She'd forgotten that she'd broken up with him because she thought he had that sort of over-the-top social confidence. Was it too late to run?
