He Was Unrivaled

On the first day she moved to the small town, something set its sights on her.

No one knew why. Only It did.

She was a sacrifice chosen personally by Cthulhu.

But It didn't devour her right away. Instead, It quietly seeped into her life.

Whispers outside the window at night.

A shadow that appeared behind her.

And that voice that kept repeating itself in her ear.

“Don't be afraid. I'll protect you.”

But the more she was “protected,” the more the town began to spiral out of control.

Short story, complete.

Cthulhu-style nonhuman entity × the girl chosen as its sacrifice.

Sweetness and danger go hand in hand.
