As a qualified female protagonist in an upgrade-focused story, Lin Xixing transmigrates into a book and:
Rescues the Sword Spirit Sect's favored child of the Heavenly Dao from danger, obtains the spirit sword famed for its "chill light that pacifies the nine provinces," then fakes her death and gets out of there;
Wins over an eccentric, sickly young lord with love, learns the secret art he has carefully collected that everyone else covets, then happily makes her escape;
Takes meticulous care of a seductive fox who has fallen from grace and been disfigured, gains a dual-cultivation technique to improve her spiritual power, then shamelessly abandons him.
From having her spiritual pills destroyed to making a name for herself throughout the cultivation world, Lin Xixing always thought she was following an upgrade-story script. So why isn't the plot going the way she imagined?
Just as she is about to take revenge on her awful sect, the favored child of the Heavenly Dao is even quicker than her to draw his sword: "I'll handle it. Don't dirty your hands."
Just as she is about to give the cultivation world a taste of its own medicine, the sickly young lord takes her hand with a world-weary expression: "This cultivation world is filthy through and through. If you don't like it, I'll destroy it for you."
She is preparing to focus on her career and ignore romance, when the seductive fox lightly hooks a finger into her sash: "Big Sister, why did you bite someone else's neck that day?"
Lin Xixing is dumbfounded. This isn't how things are supposed to go...

Lin Xixing's mission here is to find and fulfill the original owner's wish, living out her life for her.
She always thought the original owner's wish was "to rid the world of injustice and become the greatest swordswoman under heaven." But it turns out to be: Everyone loves me, the Mary Sue???
#Help! I don't understand the Mary Sue world!#
#If the original owner could be super strong, why be a Mary Sue?#
[Reader's Guide]: 1. The female lead is career-focused and doesn't need romance. She may feel a flutter of affection in certain moments, but won't act on it. In the end, she'll choose someone who's right for her. 2. One-on-one romance, with the official pairing already set. Don't ship the wrong people. 3. The title alone tells you this book has Mary Sue elements. The three male characters have roughly equal page time. They aren't lovesick early on, but later they'll go crazy for the female lead, and it's pretty scary.
Theme: No matter how low you have fallen, as long as you stay true to yourself, you can find your way out of hardship.
