Blurb
After the Xia family went bankrupt, Xia Shubai had no choice but to marry Chu Liu, a rising star in the business world. His new husband was handsome, tall, and successful, but treated him like a stranger, politely keeping his distance.
Xia Shubai always thought Chu Liu liked him, but simply wasn’t good at expressing it.
Only after they married did he learn that his husband had someone else in his heart, a beloved idealized figure. Chu Liu was cold and indifferent because Xia Shubai was nothing but a replacement.
A year later, Xia Shubai paid off the debt from back then and formally asked for a divorce. But just then, Chu Liu got into a car accident, injured his head, and, in a clichéd twist, lost his memory.
Xia Shubai rushed to the hospital, where he found Chu Liu, who had been snarling at and keeping the medical staff at bay just a moment earlier, carefully tugging at his sleeve. “Wife...”
Xia Shubai: If I remember right, Chu Liu only lost his memory. He didn’t develop a split personality, did he?
The amnesiac Chu Liu mistook Xia Shubai for his beloved.
He confessed three times a day without fail, fussed over him tenderly, and remembered every single one of his likes and habits.
He would warm a cup of milk for him in the morning and wake him with a gentle voice.
“Wife, Xia Xia, time to get up~”
He would also sit on the sofa waiting when Xia Shubai worked late and came home in the middle of the night, just so he could say:
“Xia Xia, welcome home.”
He would put the dishes Xia Shubai liked in front of him and pick out the things he didn’t like.
“I like carrots. Xia Xia, give me yours.”
Only then did Xia Shubai realize Chu Liu had never been a cold person. His warmth simply wasn’t meant for him. Xia Shubai was like a thief who had stolen someone else’s place, taking what didn’t belong to him while Chu Liu had amnesia
Until one day, the original owner returned and stood before him, asking:
“Can you give him back to me?”
Xia Shubai left a divorce agreement behind and fled in a panic.
He thought he would never see Chu Liu again, but then he saw a man huddled by the door of his rented apartment, like a big dog abandoned by its owner.
The man looked up pitifully. “Why do you want a divorce? You... don’t want me anymore?”
* * * * *
When Chu Liu was still poor, there was a boy in his heart, like an idealized beloved, whom no one else could touch or even lay a finger on. He knew he wasn’t good enough for the boy he loved, so he could only hide his cautious feelings in his heart.
Then one day, the boy he cherished fell from the heights and into the mud. The once-glamorous young master was buried in debt and forced to struggle through the murky world of business, bowing and smiling obsequiously to others.
So Chu Liu took advantage of his misfortune and shamelessly offered him a contract. He would help the young master repay his debts, on the sole condition that he marry him.
The contract made him Xia Shubai’s legal partner. With despicable force, he kept him by his side.
At last, he got the boy he’d always wanted, but forever lost the chance to be loved by him.
Afraid to see the boy look at him with disgust, he wore coldness as armor, building a thick wall between them and hiding his unspeakable love behind it.
Then one day, he was in a car accident. In the last second before he died, he suddenly regretted everything
“I haven’t told him I love him.”
When Chu Liu woke up in the hospital, he remembered nothing except one thing.
“Xia Xia, I love you.”
“You say that three times a day. Don’t you ever get tired of it?”
“No. Never.”
I could never get tired of loving you, and I could never forget you.

2. The male lead thinks he forced the other into the marriage.
3. Both leads are pure in body and mind.
4. A modern fairy tale. Logic died a long time ago, so please don’t nitpick any plot holes.
