The Mary Sue Heroine Awakens

There are two kinds of Mary Sues in the world. One is in a melodramatic story, playing the red-eyed, waist-grabbing romance game with a domineering CEO. The other is in an over-the-top fantasy, declaring, "I'm the queen."

Xia Zhitiao is the first kind. Mu Rou is the second.

-

Xia Zhitiao is a cleaning lady in a world ruled by domineering CEOs.

But in reality, she's the Mary Sue heroine of this book...

One day, Xia Zhitiao became self-aware. The System told her that if she followed the script to the end, it would set her free.

Xia Zhitiao agreed.

But the day she got the script, the System glitched, and her assigned target changed.

System! System! Are you there?!

Who is this Mary Sue with rainbow-colored hair, acting all high and mighty?!

Where's my domineering CEO?!

-

Mu Rou is the Mary Sue of a Mary Sue world.

Though blessed with peerless beauty, endless wealth, and a line of admirers stretching beyond sight, she isn't happy at all.

Go away! You damn piles of money, stop bothering me!

She no longer yearns for a love that will leave a deep mark on her heart. She just wants a friend who truly understands her.

Then one day, the eternally world-weary Mary Sue realizes that the cleaning lady at her company is nothing like all the other flashy, shallow women.

How does that line go again?

Oh, right.

"Woman, you've successfully caught my attention."

-

Cleaning lady: "We can't be together yet!"

Mary Sue: "?"

Cleaning lady: "We haven't traveled the world yet. You haven't confessed to me on Mount Everest. We have to kiss in a hot-air balloon seven thousand meters above the ground, take a submarine to explore the ocean floor, and keep fighting and making up, then fighting and making up again. Only then can I be with you."

Mary Sue: "That's so much trouble?"

Cleaning lady: "...Let's be together! Let's be together! That's not what I meant to say, the script says it like that, QAQ."

Mary Sue, blushing: "...I never said I wouldn't do it."

Cleaning lady: "(っ///////c)"
