The Little Darling

In the twelfth year of Yuanhe, the prime minister entrusted his only daughter, Liu Fuzi, to the Prince of Zhennan to raise.

It was the first time the Prince of Zhennan had a daughter, and he doted on her so much that everyone almost thought he was planning to take a second wife himself.

Even the young heir believed the prince was an old ox eating tender grass, “eating” this tender young girl who had only just come of age.

But the young girl was completely oblivious. Whenever she blinked her limpid eyes and looked slowly at the heir, he would lose all his temper.

Still, he was unwilling to have a woman younger than him become his stepmother.

The heir made life difficult for Liu Fuzi at every turn, insisting on everything and hoping to leave her with a lasting fear of him.

Then one day, the Prince of Zhennan cheerfully told him that Prime Minister Liu did not want his daughter to marry into the imperial family, and asked whether he would marry Liu Fuzi instead.

The heir regretted it. He should not have been so harsh with Liu Fuzi.

After they married, Liu Fuzi often remembered the things the heir had done.

She ate only until she was half full, and kept herself three parts hungry and seven parts cold.

Women were not supposed to show themselves in public, so she did not even leave her room.

Even as the heir's wife, she still had to do the work herself, washing clothes and cooking.

Liu Fuzi did it all.

The heir was miserable.

He held Liu Fuzi close and fed her, coaxing her and saying that what he had said before was wrong.

When he saw the heir's wife washing clothes and cooking in the middle of winter, he hurriedly grabbed a washboard and insisted that he would do it himself.

When the heir's wife stayed in her room for ten days or half a month without coming out, the heir was nearly in tears.

Wife, at least come outside and get some sun!!

[Pure Sweet Short Story]

[They are not related by blood. Outsiders only think the heroine will become the heir's stepmother, but she never does! The rumor will soon die down. While the hero thinks the heroine is going to be his stepmother (though she never becomes one), he has no improper thoughts about her. For the record.]
