Central theme: If you love him, kill him.

Ten years ago, a girl carved snake-like scars into my waist because she loved me. Ten years later, I carved the marks of love all over a man's body because I loved him. Ten years ago, I was horrified to witness my father entwined with a strange woman. Ten years later, an equally innocent child was horrified by the affair between me and her father. Ten years ago, I still owned a string of red agate prayer beads. Ten years later, the beads lay scattered. Ten years ago, I was just a girl with a somewhat peculiar temper. Ten years later, I became a wicked woman who stole another woman's husband and murdered her lover.
