Can a Player Fall Head Over Heels?

A school romance: a naturally aloof playboy x a "good girl" who deliberately gets close to him to take revenge.

1.

That was the first time Chen Yu saw Song Qihui.

The boy was flamboyant by nature, and his handsome face got him whatever he wanted. Even when his smile didn't reach his eyes, countless admirers still threw themselves at him.

His hands in his pockets, leaning against the wall, he was clearly just showing off and trying to look cool.

Yet he had Chen Yu's friend completely smitten.

Ten years later, that friend cut ties with Chen Yu because of him. They never spoke again.

What a heartbreaker.

2.

"You say you mean it...?" Song Qihui points at Chen Yu, laughing so hard he can barely stand up straight.

His tone is scornful. "Do you know that out of everything in the world, sincerity is the least, least, least worth mentioning?"

He says that, but in the end, Song Qihui believes her.

For the first time in his life, he trusts someone. He even changes his ways, giving Chen Yu his whole heart and remaining utterly devoted to her.

What finally makes him understand just how brilliant Chen Yu's acting is are her indifferent eyes and the words she says as she brings up the past again:

"Song Qihui, you were absolutely right. I also think 'sincerity' is the most worthless thing in the world."

3.

Everyone says nobody can stay by his side for long.

Song Qihui thinks so himself.

Until Chen Yu plays him for a fool.

P.S.:

1. The male lead has a romantic past and is a playboy, but both leads are virgins.

2. The good girl isn't good, and she isn't a genuinely kind and virtuous person [emphasis].

3. A melodramatic romance focused on relationships, written just for my own enjoyment.

Theme: Those who don't love others will never be loved themselves.
