The System, codenamed Baisheng, is a new employee at the World Management Bureau. Its job is to maintain the balance of each derivative world by playing a role and changing its bad ending.
In this era when "everyone loves beautiful characters," the only roles left for newcomer Baisheng are the "mascots" in various productions.
And so the white dog from the Nohara family shoves aside the world's greatest detective, gets behind the wheel of a bus, and speeds down the road; a mysterious alien who can only hold up signs accidentally reveals its leg hair; and a little mummy unwinds its bandages and wraps them around the fingertips of the youngest executive.
But... the worlds have gone completely off track!
