In the age of declining magic, spiritual energy has dried up and the myriad paths have withered. The Celestial Masters, once renowned for a thousand years, have fallen so far that they now tell fortunes under an overpass and get called frauds for their trouble.

A sudden collision between celestial bodies brought cataclysmic disaster to Blue Star, but it also gave rise to endless possibilities.

Primordial energy once more filled the world, and the gods of old awakened.

One after another, people were influenced by the gods and awakened their potential, becoming the “qi practitioners” of myth and legend, capable of moving mountains, filling seas, and commanding demons and ghosts.

Their abilities were bizarre and impossible to guard against. If they turned to evil, ordinary people would be powerless to resist.

The old order completely collapsed. As disasters raged across the globe, countless places were reduced to wastelands. The people who died there hatched into even more demons and ghosts, creating new forbidden zones of death.

Humanity needed a stronger order and more powerful law enforcers to protect their fragile peace.

The gods, demons, and ghosts, and qi practitioners could only be opposed by Celestial Masters. As enforcers of the laws of Heaven and Earth, they were the only ones capable of wielding the five elements and yin and yang to dispel calamities and avert disaster.
