I really wanted to read a story with this premise, but couldn't find one, so I decided to write it myself.
Athena always thought her dad was dead. After all, ever since she could remember, her mom had taken her to the cemetery every year to visit his grave. But on Athena's fourteenth birthday, her mom suddenly told her that her dad wasn't dead. He just wasn't on this planet, and she wanted Athena to go find him. Athena was stunned, but had no choice, so she hurriedly packed her things and went to Earth to find her dad.
