The girl did not answer his question directly. Instead, she left him with this: "Your eyes are so lively right now, Your Majesty."

Most people would probably have argued with him by now, but Illuli thought he was acting a little like the black cat at home. When they had first brought it home and offered it food, it had been just as wary and mistrustful.

Illuli smiled. "People shouldn't be defined by the history they carry. I only believe in the Fushimi standing in front of me. That's enough."
