#What do you do after a fight sends you into your nemesis's childhood? #
Xie Lang: Thanks for asking. I'm an Immortal Venerable, currently starving in the Demon Realm.
As an Immortal Venerable, Xie Lang spends every day thinking about how to conquer the Demon Realm.
So she and the Demon Lord fought an earth-shaking battle, only for a bolt of heavenly lightning to send her back to her childhood.
And not just any childhood: the Demon Lord's.
When she entered the body of the young Demon Lord, he was skin and bones from hunger, dressed in rags, and being beaten half to death by a group of demon youths. He still clung tightly to a bag of steamed buns, because they were for his mother.
Xie Lang never imagined the Demon Lord had such a miserable childhood.
But now there was a problem: she was the one living miserably.
Faced with the hungry, predatory stares of demons who looked ready to devour her on the spot, she clutched her numb, empty stomach and slowly drew a nine-ringed saber from behind her back.
At least, although she'd ended up in the wrong body, she hadn't lost her cultivation.
She was still the invincible Immortal Venerable, unmatched under heaven.
What she didn't know was that the Demon Lord, Lou Beiwang, was running wild in her body.
Lou Beiwang never imagined he would be struck by lightning and sent into the body of his archenemy.
When he entered Xie Lang's body, she was facing a room full of accusations. Why had she pushed her younger sister off a cliff? Why wouldn't she hand over the peerless treasure she'd risked her life to obtain? Her parents were pressuring her to give it up.
Her father envied her talent for cultivation, her mother favored her sister, and everyone in the family thought she was cold and heartless, and wanted nothing to do with her.
Lou Beiwang's expression changed at once. Tears glistened in his eyes, about to fall, and he smoothly began:
"My sister wanted it, so I couldn't very well refuse. But I had planned to present such a precious treasure to Father. It would only enhance my sister's beauty, but if Father had it, it could help him advance his cultivation."
Lou Beiwang wiped his tears with his sleeve. "I just... feel sorry for Father."
Xie Lang's father, seated above, looked at her differently.
After that, it took Lou Beiwang just one month to turn Xie Lang from an isolated oddball into the goddess in the hearts of all the young disciples of the immortal sects. Suitors lined up from the Immortal Realm all the way to the Demon Realm.
When Lou Beiwang had dealt with all the scheming tea-serving women in the Xie family and went to ask about his own body, he heard that:
The new Demon Lord, Lou Beiwang, had taken the throne in just one year!
After they switched back, Xie Lang stared expressionlessly at the young talents who came to propose every day, picked up her saber, and charged back to the Demon Realm.
"If you want to marry someone, go marry them yourself. I'll be the Demon Lord." Xie Lang stroked her saber, her expression cool and composed. "I know the job."
Lou Beiwang gazed at her, eyes blazing:
"I'll marry you, then. Will you take me as your husband?"
That night, news spread throughout all three realms.
The Demon Lord had gone to the Immortal Venerable's home to propose.
