Liu Cixu transmigrates into a cultivation novel as the insignificant junior disciple of the Dragon-Proud hero. With his senior brother there to handle anything that goes wrong, Liu Cixu is happy to lie flat.
He goofs off and feeds the birds with his junior sister while the Dragon-Proud hero splits a boulder with one sword strike.
He accepts food from his junior sister while the Dragon-Proud hero levels a bamboo grove with one sword strike.
He braids his junior sister's hair while the Dragon-Proud hero sweeps away a mountain peak with one sword strike.
The Dragon-Proud senior brother grows increasingly gloomy, and the looks he gives Liu Cixu and the junior sister grow more and more hostile.
Liu Cixu shivers. He figures it's probably the resentment of an overachiever, so he takes the junior sister down the mountain to keep having fun.
They enjoy their leisurely days for a long time, until one day the transmigration-into-a-book System finally arrives.
System: In the original story, the cannon-fodder junior disciple meets a tragic end after the Dragon-Proud hero schemes against him for getting too close to the junior sister he loves.
Liu Cixu: Excuse me???
To stay alive, Liu Cixu starts avoiding the junior sister and does his best to create opportunities for her and the Dragon-Proud hero.
One day, Liu Cixu receives a two-person mission to descend the mountain and exterminate demons. Such a perfect chance for some time alone! He sends a message to the Dragon-Proud hero and the junior sister that very night.
But only the Dragon-Proud hero shows up.
The Dragon-Proud hero pins Liu Cixu down on the bed. His voice is practically brimming with grievance, though a dark look flickers in his eyes. "Is having me not enough, junior brother? Why invite someone else?"
"You're always with the junior sister. When will you spare some attention for me?"
"Junior brother... please look at me, okay?"
From then on, the Dragon-Proud hero unlocks a new skill. By day, he's an aloof paragon of virtue; at night, he climbs into his junior brother's bed and whines and acts spoiled.
Liu Cixu's hand trembles as he holds his aching waist. "You damn System, you gave me false intel. Get out here and face your death!"
System: Beep. Plot alteration detected. Category changed to Ancient-Era Boys' Love.
