A detached beauty VS a scheming, dark-hearted tycoon
The year Song Qingxue graduated from college, she was forced to take the place of her half-sister, Song Qingran, and marry into the Gu family, becoming the wife of its eldest son, Gu Chenyu.
Rumor had it that Gu Chenyu of Shengshi Group had always kept a true love in his heart, yet had no choice but to marry the daughter of the Song family for the sake of his company's interests.
Before that, he had been in a car accident because of his true love and injured his leg. They said he had injured that part of himself, too. His personality changed drastically, and he had to lean on a cane year-round. His moods were unpredictable, and he was cold and ruthless. No one dared approach him lightly.
After they married, they lived under the same roof, treating each other with respect and acting like a couple only in public.
Song Qingxue didn't mind. She used his money, connections, and resources to her heart's content, waiting for the day Gu Chenyu got tired of her and sent her packing.
But a whole year passed, and no matter how much trouble she caused, the man remained cool and unruffled. The most emotional he'd ever been was when he got drunk, held her, and kept calling, "Ranran~"
Ha! So this was a body-double romance! His true love was actually Song Qingran, while she was the substitute!
What kind of ridiculous plot was this, combining rumors, a true love, abandonment after seduction, unrequited love, and a body-double trope?!
Song Qingxue didn't want to have anything to do with it, so she simply ran away abroad to pursue her dreams.
Not long afterward, news came from home that Gu Chenyu had died of illness.
Song Qingxue returned to attend his funeral. The moment she stepped off the plane, she saw her supposedly dead husband, dressed in a suit, leaning against a car with his long legs crossed and a smile in his eyes.
"Decided to come back, have you?"
Song Qingxue: "!!!"
As she stood there stunned, the man strode toward her, elegant and handsome. His ever-present cane had long since disappeared, and nobody knew where it had gone.
Song Qingxue: "???"
Later, his burning chest pressed against her slender back as he thrust into her. His tone was domineering and full of meaning. "Why keep running? Did I say you could?"
After he drove Song Qingxue to the brink of madness, she glanced down and spotted a faint scar on his thigh, no bigger than a fingernail...
!!!
Only then did she realize how good this man was at acting...
She'd fallen into his trap!!!
Scheming and plotting / marriage first, love later / fake body double
