Blurb One:
Wen Luli is as stubborn as a weed. Once she sets her mind on something, she never turns back. She's both tenacious and resilient.
She was like that when she studied hard for twenty years, earned a master's degree, and left the desert.
She was like that when she gave up an enviable job after graduation to support her hometown.
She was like that when she put her head down and started a business, growing wild weeds from the hills in greenhouses.
The villagers shook their heads and laughed, saying she'd studied herself stupid.
The elders sighed, thinking her parents were terribly irresponsible.
Her father was so angry that he didn't speak to her for months.
Surrounded by desert, this place couldn't grow delicate, beautiful flowers. Only endless wild weeds flourished here.
Looking at her hometown, mocked for being backward and poor, her heart burned.
She stubbornly set her sights on becoming an agricultural technician and making her fervent dream come true.
If there are no flowers, then grow valuable grasses on this barren land.
Blurb Two:
Wen Luli studied hard for twenty years and, after earning her master's degree, gave up an enviable job to return to her hometown and pursue agricultural technology. Her parents couldn't talk her out of it, and the villagers all said she'd studied herself stupid.
Then disaster struck. Her father died, and her mother was badly injured. Deeply shaken, Wen Luli resolved to take these unremarkable wild weeds and forge a path to prosperity.
The villagers shook their heads and laughed. "That girl is a complete fool. These weeds grow everywhere in autumn. Who would pay for the ones you grow?"
But a few years later, the tide turned.
The villagers beamed at her. "Director Xiao Wen, could we grow wild weeds with you?"
Notes:
1. An inspirational story about starting a business in a real rural village.
2. The female lead has no golden finger.
3. The female lead really does farm.
No-couple upcoming story "It's Hard to Be a God" blurb:
When Cong Cang woke up, he found himself in a temple he often dreamed about. He had become the master of the temple, a god who watched over the people of his domain.
The land was peaceful and prosperous, and the people revered him and offered him tributes. With nothing to do, he raised animals and grew flowers in his divine palace, enjoying drinks and tea. He lived the carefree life of a happy slacker! Cong Cang thought, So being a god is actually this easy!
One day, all the animals he'd raised disappeared. As he searched around in confusion, a crowd suddenly appeared and surrounded him so completely that he couldn't escape.
Cong Cang was startled. He pretended to be calm and was just about to ask, "Who are you?"
But one of them respectfully reported:
"My lord, the people have recently petitioned us. Residents of the capital are disappearing one after another, and evil spirits may be responsible. We ask that you personally go to the scene and drive them out!"
Cong Cang wilted on the spot. Since arriving here, he'd never done any real work beyond relaxing and having fun. How was he supposed to drive out evil spirits? He was doomed!
He cried out in despair, "Help! Do I really have to be a god?"
"A Female Village Secretary Comes to Town" blurb:
For decades, the people of Fuyu Village had grown melons, turning it into a modestly famous melon-growing region. Every year, as summer gave way to autumn, melon merchants poured in from outside to buy their produce. Yet year after year, the villagers of Fuyu never seemed to grow much richer.
That spring, during melon-planting season, the authorities suddenly assigned a female village secretary to Fuyu. She was young, but talked big. As soon as she took office, she announced that she would double the villagers' income. Then she boldly tore down every melon stall the villagers had built along the roads and rounded up a few village officials to fence off the best plot of land in the village.
The villagers erupted in anger. They banded together and marched in a huge crowd to the township government, making a furious complaint and accusing the new secretary of abusing her authority. The township immediately summoned her and told her to give the villagers a convincing explanation.
The secretary stood on the steps and asked, without a hint of shame, "You all want to sell your melons for a good price, yet you cling to old ways and refuse to innovate. So tell me, how can you create something new without giving up the old?" The villagers fell silent.
Later, the secretary threw herself into building a trading market, racking her brains to organize a melon festival, and launching a popular livestream from a farm where visitors could pick their own produce. The melon business took off. The villagers' pockets filled up, and they all smiled from ear to ear, praising the secretary for getting things done.
