Before their wedding, You Xi always wondered why Lu Wu, the eldest son of the wealthy and powerful Lu family, would want to form a marriage alliance with him. He wasn't just the illegitimate son of the You family; his reputation was awful, too.
After they married, You Xi happened to see a folded-paper rabbit in Lu Wu's room. It was protected by a very elegant bulletproof glass case, and Lu Wu gazed at it with deep affection for half an hour every day. You Xi understood: he was just a cover for a wealthy young master's love for a nonhuman being.
Looking at the real "bride" inside the glass case, yellowed and on the verge of crumbling, You Xi prayed every day that it would "live" a little longer, at least until he could retire.
Then one day, the "bride" passed away, its remains crumbling to pieces inside the glass case. To keep his job, You Xi promptly made it a new paper body.
Later, You Xi noticed that Lu Wu's attitude toward him had become strange, and that those tender, adoring looks had shifted to him.

Ever since Lu Wu married You Xi, a man full of bad habits, everyone had been waiting for Lu Wu to divorce him and shatter the illegitimate son's dream of joining high society.
That was until paparazzi caught Lu Wu gently coaxing a clearly sulking You Xi in an underground parking garage. After You Xi dodged his attempts to kiss him several times, Lu Wu grabbed his head with a firm hand and kissed him. Only then did everyone realize they'd been played.
You Xi wiped his lips. "I'm the one who got played, okay? Weren't we supposed to be in a marriage of convenience?!"
