Do You Like Me Today?

Fang Youyou's ideal type was a chubby, good-natured man like her dad, who could cook well, not a dog of a man like Lu Zhiwang, with his fair skin, tall build, monolids, good grades, and two-faced personality.

The passionate, earth-shattering love stories on TV weren't even as important to her as the nightly news.

A heavy schoolbag on her back, going back and forth between home and school: that was the ordinary daily life of most high school students.

She never counted on luck. Only by giving it everything she had could she choose what her heart wanted when she reached the crossroads of the future.

When we're young, we always yearn for romance and drama, wanting to bloom with wild abandon.

Fang Youyou was like a sunflower growing toward the sun in a rose garden: ordinary yet radiant, unremarkable yet vivid.

Lu Zhiwang was like a lotus blooming in midsummer, standing alone and bathed in sunlight, its roots buried in damp, muddy depths, far beyond reach.

They were two completely different people, yet they bloomed at the same time, met, and became a one-of-a-kind sight in each other's eyes.

"Do you like me today?"

"You're not my type."

A sunflower chasing the sun happened to pass a clear spring in the depths of a forest and saw a lonely lotus. She gently plucked a warm petal and placed it on the water. The petal sank into the muddy earth, where a little sun quietly began to grow.

Love isn't all there is to life. It's more like a sudden midsummer rain, leaving you flustered, yet making you long for it.
