Playing the Green Tea in a Mystery Novel

Ruan Yuqi, a popular young actress, is transported into a detective novel, where she becomes a notorious, lovesick, foolish beauty. She mooches off the main character, her genius-detective older brother, and lives off him (?).

She doesn't think this is a sustainable arrangement, because her brother is a sharp-tongued schemer who argues with her every day. She's afraid he'll kick her out sooner or later.

Ruan Yuqi decides that since she's read countless detective stories and knows all the usual tricks, she'll ride the wave and solve cases, becoming a clever beauty!

Just then, a voice rings out: [Hello. You have been bound to the Green Tea System. Do not break character. The System will continuously monitor you.]

Ruan Yuqi: ...Fine. It's just acting, and she knows how to do that!

There's no way a green tea can't solve cases!

And so, some strange scenes began to unfold at the crime scenes.

#When the stern police chief scolds her for contacting a suspect without permission.

Ruan Yuqi: QAQ I only think of him as a brother. Don't get the wrong idea.

Police chief: ?

Her real brother: ?

#When the cool, aloof forensic doctor who can't stand her refuses to give her any clues.

A beautiful policewoman comes over to comfort the sobbing Ruan Yuqi.

Ruan Yuqi: Sister, it's all my fault. My brother didn't mean it, so please don't blame him.

Senior policewoman: You there, come here for a moment.

Forensic doctor: ...

Using tricks like calling everyone her brother and crying pitifully, Ruan Yuqi successfully gets all kinds of clues and solves cases with her real brother in spectacular fashion.

At the same time, she notices that the people who used to dislike the original owner have started treating her strangely differently...

Especially their butler, the refined man who always comes up with crucial hints that give them sudden flashes of insight. His gaze at her is growing more and more peculiar.

Until one day, he takes off his white gloves, lifts her chin, and gazes at her tenderly through his gold-rimmed glasses. "Miss, stop pretending. You're no good person."

Ruan Yuqi swallows. Has her cover been blown? Has he seen through her fake green tea persona?

Looking at her nervous expression, he narrows his clear eyes and smiles elegantly. "What a coincidence. Neither am I."

Her real brother: "Looks like nobody wants you. Fine, I'll be generous and reluctantly take care of you for now..."

The butler walks in, lowers his head, and kisses Ruan Yuqi. She looks up in alarm. "What were you saying just now, big brother?"

Her real brother: ??!

...His fists clenched.

A few tips before reading:

1. Modern alternate universe. The country, police, and legal system are fictional, so don't compare them to reality.

2. The heroine becomes everyone's beloved and a heartthrob later on.

3. "Green tea" isn't an insult here, just a description of her personality.

4. Not horror, and not a serious drama! A lighthearted, silly, sweet, satisfying detective story. I couldn't find the kind of story I wanted, so I wrote it myself. One-on-one romance, both leads' first time, happy ending.
