Their ancestral planet faces the calamity of annihilation. The resentment and despair of destruction taint the Heavenly Dao, leaving it no choice but to split in two. All despair and other negative influences, along with the inner Heavenly Dao, are sealed away in the inner world, while the outer Heavenly Dao continues to maintain the workings of the outer world.
Unwilling to simply perish, the tainted inner Heavenly Dao releases seeds of darkness and selects candidates through dream trials, initiating a trial of fate. It hopes to change destiny and survive against all odds in its final moments.
