I Heard Sakata Hoshi Is a Police Officer

When she was one year old, a silver-haired, red-eyed brat picked her up, and she got a new name: Sakata Hoshi.

Later, when Shoyo asked why he had given her such a name, her non-blood-related big brother said with a straight face, "I hoped she'd shine as brilliantly and beautifully as a jewel, and be cherished by everyone."

What Gintoki had actually said at the time was, "I'll raise you for now, and when you're older, you'll earn money to support me. So I'll call you Hoshi. May you bring me lots of wealth."

So it's only natural that she later became more and more like her shameless big brother.

When a certain tomb raider took a hostage, she beat up the hostage and the tomb raider on the spot. "Reporting in, sir. The hostage has been eliminated. Ready to proceed to the next step."

Of course, she mostly learned that from her captain, Okita Sougo.
