I Haven't Been Crown Prince in Years [Ancient to Modern]

*Coming soon: the esports novel What's the King of the Jungle's King Called? Please add it to your collection!

(Novel blurb) Shen Yu lives up to his name. He's a crown prince renowned throughout the land, revered by the people and praised by the emperor as "My son has the bearing of our ancestors." Just as he's about to ascend the throne, he meets his untimely end.

When he opens his eyes again, he's become a troublesome little entertainer, a pretty face with nothing else to offer.

The young entertainer is spoiled and ignorant, and almost everyone wants to see him make a fool of himself.

Later, rumors spread that Shen Yu has won the favor of leading figures in archaeology, calligraphy, poetry, and other fields, and even become friends with them despite their age difference.

Everyone scoffs, saying he should at least make his lies sound believable.

That is, until they see Shen Yu draw a bow and hit the bullseye, then leap onto a runaway Ferghana horse and bring it under control...

Fans: "!!!"

Everyone is in disbelief. Just as they're about to criticize his acting, the award-winning actor filming with him speaks up: "Shen Yu's acting is far better than mine."

Everyone: "???"

His fans: "What other surprises are you hiding from us?"

Yan Jingcong has loved Shen Yu since they were young, especially his carefree, unrestrained nature, so he pursues him with everything he's got.

After finally winning Shen Yu over, Yan Jingcong discovers that not long after they register their marriage, Shen Yu's personality changes completely. He's become someone Yan Jingcong doesn't recognize at all.

Yan Jingcong realizes their first meeting may have been a carefully planned deception, and that Shen Yu only showed his true colors after they got married.

To preserve the beautiful image of Shen Yu he once held in his heart, Yan Jingcong chooses to live apart from him. He never expected Shen Yu to go even further and try to drug him.

After putting up with it for more than a year, Yan Jingcong finally reaches his limit. When Shen Yu tries to drug him again, he asks for a divorce.

After ending their marriage, Yan Jingcong realizes Shen Yu has changed again. He's even more spirited than before, and now carries himself with calm composure.

Before Yan Jingcong can figure out why, Shen Yu is already surrounded by "wolves."

What should he do? There are still so many people around him.

Does he still have a chance to win him back?

Famous esports streamer Xingye is tired of the ranked peak matches, so he creates a new account to relive his younger days. He sails smoothly all the way up, going on a winning streak until he reaches Eternal Diamond, then suddenly realizes everything here has changed.

His teammates in all three lanes take turns flaming him, and the enemy team completely clears out his jungle.

Xingye: I'm done.

Viewers in his livestream curse him out and tell him to go back to peak matches. Staying in Eternal rank will only bring bad luck.

Xingye refuses to believe it. He thinks it's because he picked a jungler, so he decides to try heroes in every other position.

After playing top, mid, and bottom and getting flamed to hell by his teammates, the easygoing king of the jungle finally shuts down for the first time. He restrains himself from turning on his mic, types furiously in the chat, then... deletes it all.

Viewers: Flame them! Bring out the trash talk you use in peak matches!

Xingye: ...I still haven't played support.

At the start of the match, he picks Yao and her brand-new purple Starry skin, excitedly heading to mid to help clear the wave

Mage: Support, why are you in my lane? Stealing my farm and taking my gold? Get your ass to bottom.

Xingye: ???

He finally can't hold back. His finger is nearly on the microphone icon, and the viewers' eyes light up. Their familiar trash-talking streamer is back!!!

Marksman: Support, come down here.

Xingye: Coming, coming.

Viewers: ????

Pro player Yueyin is practicing heroes at his teammates' insistence when he runs into a support with incredible game sense.

Not only can they play every support, they also stick close and protect him the whole time. For the first time, Yueyin experiences the security of playing marksman.

After a few games in a trio, the support suddenly disconnects. Just as Yueyin is feeling dejected, his team's support holds a tablet in front of him. "Hey, check this out. Is that your alt account in this livestream?"

The image flashes by, but Yueyin still recognizes his alt account... and the support's ID.

As he wonders about it, the streamer's voice comes clearly through the speaker

"That marksman plays like a jungler, taking me all over the map to visit every jungle. Is he implying I don't know how to jungle?"

Yueyin: ?
