The Strange Encounter Between a Bird and a Fish

The first time I read "Encounter" in a book by Jimmy, I was captivated by it. It reminded me of the encounter between a fish and a bird, the one I had always wanted to forget. I met a cat scuba diving, but I didn't meet you. I met a dog rock climbing, but I didn't meet you. I saw snow falling in summer, but I didn't meet you. I saw a typhoon raging in winter, but I didn't meet you. I saw even pigs learn to spin webs, but I didn't meet you. I encountered every kind of extraordinary thing, yet never the ordinary you. In truth, I should thank heaven for letting me meet you. But an encounter is, after all, just an encounter. I met you, only to lose you again in the moment I turned away. Perhaps that's the only way it can truly be called an encounter.
