After Ling Xu dies, she transmigrates to the world of immortal cultivation. She's barely finished receiving her memories when a voice appears in her mind:
System: "Bind to the Draw System, and you can draw any spell in the world, no matter how powerful. Once drawn, it's yours to learn."
Ling Xu: "There's no such thing as a free lunch."
System: "Drawing cards costs spirit stones."
Ling Xu: "Fair enough. Bind it."
Only after binding does she realize what a shameless System this is. Only spells she's seen will appear in the card pool, and she can't use any spell she hasn't drawn.
With the sect assessment fast approaching, Ling Xu starts challenging people to spar so she can survive in the illusion. She takes on every disciple personally taught by the sect leader, losing again and again, then getting back up to fight again.
The whole sect is shocked: Why is this disciple so weak, yet so brazen?
When they enter the illusion, they finally understand that Ling Xu had been secretly learning from them all along.
They watch as Ling Xu draws a green vine from her fingertip and strangles a monster.
A fellow disciple asks, "Isn't that Seventh Senior Brother's Vine Growth Spell?"
Then sand whips through the air and rocks tumble down. As they flee the monster horde, the others make a guess: "Is that First Senior Sister's Flying Stone Spell?"
That night, a three-inch-tall stone person brings a few wild fruits to Ling Xu. The others finally can't identify it. What kind of spell is that?
Ling Xu doesn't know either. She fused the Vine Growth Spell and Flying Stone Spell cards, and it seems no one in the cultivation world has ever learned a spell like this before.
