Before the apocalypse, Jiang Buwei had a little money and enjoyed a comfortable life with his beloved pets. He never expected the apocalypse to arrive. He had imagined all sorts of ways to die, like being betrayed by a close friend, dissected in a lab, or shoved into a horde of zombies by his teammates.

He never imagined he would starve to death at home right at the start. He could only watch helplessly as his little darlings closed their eyes. Not one of them attacked him, even as they died.

Given another life, all he wants is to stock up on supplies and keep his family fed. There are so many mouths waiting to be fed, after all.

This is a collection of cold-blooded animals, so please don't read if that's not your thing.

The animals are all cold-blooded, not fluffy. The protagonist plays the fool while secretly being unhinged and obsessed with cold-blooded animals, especially snakes. The love interest is a little snake spirit.

A solitary, aloof, calm young man who is lazy by nature and fiercely protective of his own, seemingly detached from the world, is the shou, versus a territorial, single-eyelid little spirit who made his own way and cultivated into a demon.
