Xie Deng thought the refined, cultured, mature man before her had grown up in unimaginable comfort and was perfect in every way. But when she couldn't help smiling and approached him with admiration, and he was willing to stop and give her his time, she discovered that even someone as perfect as Xie Sheng had regrets and flaws.

Xie Sheng always thought the woman eight years his junior saw things with great depth and insight, but was a little too extreme. But when he watched her with appreciation, he discovered that someone as innocent and impulsive as Xie Deng was a rare pearl in this noisy, worldly society.

The two met at an academic conference, where Xie Sheng's hearing disorder led to a series of misunderstandings.
