A Soft Spot for Moonlight

Just as Shen Shiyue was going bankrupt, she knocked on her sworn enemy's door. Raindrops trickled helplessly from her hair as she struggled to say three words: "Help me."

The man stubbed out his cigarette. His fingertips brushed her icy face and lips drained of color. Enjoying her trembling helplessness, he leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "Getting my help comes at a steep price."

_

What Shen Shiyue didn't know was that while she lingered outside the door, unable to make up her mind, Zhou Yanqing stood by the window, lighting one cigarette after another. He was afraid she would come in, and afraid she wouldn't.

While studying abroad, he chose the English name Lunatic, meaning crazy, passionate. His friends teased him, but he never considered changing it. Lunatic comes from the Latin word Luna, meaning moon.

The moon hangs high in the sky, yet its light never reaches him.
