Building a Resort Island in a Flooded World

Just after graduating from university, Xu He was hit by a truck and sent to another world. The good news: He was bound to a vacation island System. For every guest who visited the island and left a positive review, he would gain a certain amount of extra time to live. The bad news: The island was smaller than some roadside amusement parks. It was covered in coconut trees, with not a soul in sight for miles. Xu He: ... Why don't you just kill me instead? Just as he was giving up and waiting to die, a little wooden boat came wobbling into view and headed toward the island. Xu He jumped up on the spot. "Help me up! I can still make it!!!" Year 1 of the New Era: A catastrophic flood swallowed the continents. Year 28 of the New Era: Humanity struggled to survive, adrift in an endless ocean. Eating fish every day with no oil or fat, sleeping fitfully on rocking boats, the younger generation didn't even know what land was. Then a mysterious island appeared at sea. The island had sweet, thirst-quenching coconut water, sizzling, juicy barbecue, hot pot, stir-fries... Delicacies that easily awakened taste buds deprived for decades. The island had solid, steady earth, golden, soft beaches, and towering, sacred snow-capped mountains... It gave a sense of security to a people who had spent so long adrift. The island was also home to lions, tigers, black bears, and other creatures driven to extinction by the great flood, restoring the landscape of the old world. Most importantly, the island's entrance ticket cost only 50 sea coins! Praise the great island lord! Only Xu He scratched his head, torn over the 9,999 years of life he had left. "I'm really not interested in living forever!" Theme: A happy life is one we create ourselves.
