Qin Dengying is an orphan who grew up in an orphanage. As soon as she was old enough, she went out to work and support herself. At five, a psychologist diagnosed her with an intense need to control and possess certain things. The psychologist told her it was obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, and that early diagnosis meant early treatment. Qin Dengying didn't take it seriously. She thought that someone as desireless as herself, practically ready to become a nun, could never feel strongly about anyone, until she met Nan Yizhi.
Nan Yizhi is cheerful and sunny at school, and her healing smile immediately draws Qin Dengying in. Qin Dengying can't help getting closer to her, and the symptoms of her disorder gradually emerge. She wants to lock Nan Yizhi away like a canary in a cage.
