The Metaphysics Master and the Sickly Beauty

I changed the age and some details because I was worried a story about children wouldn't pass review. Blurb: Yan Qing is a top celestial master in the occult world. Her everyday work involves fortune-telling and catching demons. Once, she accidentally fell for the schemes of a thousand-year-old ghost cultivator and ended up transmigrating into an occult novel. Her mother, Du Zhimei, is in the same line of work, commonly known as a spirit medium. Though she's only half-competent, she can talk a convincing game, and the family has enough to eat. Yan Qing thinks that lying flat and coasting through life isn't so bad. Then Du Zhimei brings someone home, saying she found him by the roadside. He's neither stupid nor foolish. He knows his name is Xu Ru, but doesn't know where he's from or how he got here. Du Zhimei takes him home first and lets him stay while the Public Security Bureau slowly helps him find his family. Xu Ru is frail and coughs every few steps. Du Zhimei reminds Yan Qing every day, "Xiao Xu has had it hard enough already. Don't keep picking on him." Xu Ru smiles weakly. "Qingqing's just playing around with me. I'm the one who's in poor health and no use to anyone." Yan Qing: Hah. Don't think I won't recognize you just because you've changed your secret identity! Xu Ru cultivated in solitude for a thousand years and kept his heart free of desire. Then he fell for someone, who happened to be his sworn enemy. He wants to win that person's favor, but somehow always gets the opposite result... These days, the ghost has been a little busy. One moment he's helping the widowed Grandma Li fill a whole vat with water, and the next he's helping Grandpa Li look for his lost sheep. He tutors a kid, acts as a human air conditioner, and even turns into a neighborhood busybody to help two super-powerful big shots settle their disputes. The ghost: I want to die!
