[The author's first completed long novel. I've dusted it off and decided to release it (mainly because I want Chashan to be all green).]
An underground train from an alien planet a thousand years in the future, Train 3018, arrives on Earth. A few down-and-out city dwellers who can't afford rent in the big cities become "research subjects" for the aliens, who use Train 3018 for archaeological research, in exchange for a free place to stay.
.
Before arriving on Earth, the alien Bai Sijiao had no name. She had only a cold designation: S.J., and a warning from her test-tube parents: Never give your heart away.
.
The Earth boy Bei Fei (whose real name is Wang Nanshi) gives Sijiao her name and repeatedly causes a person called "A Qiu" to surface in her subconscious, though no matter how hard she tries, she can't remember who it is.
Bei Fei: What, is he your little alien boyfriend?
Sijiao (glaring): I don't have one of those.
Bei Fei: Then how about getting yourself an Earthling?
.
One room on Train 3018 is forbidden to everyone. A mysterious tenant lives there, with the appearance of a middle-aged man but the stamina and voice of an old man. He is connected in countless ways to the train's "research subjects" and their "families."
This mysterious tenant seems highly aggressive, yet has saved the passengers' lives time and again.
So what exactly is this mysterious tenant's purpose in coming aboard Train 3018?
No... The question should be: Where did he come from?
.
Sijiao wants to ask almost every one of her close companions the same thing. She doesn't understand why, from Earth to Yidi (the name of the alien planet), everyone is hiding secrets from her, whether they love her or want to kill her.
Including her test-tube parents.
Including Bei Fei.
"In the future, under economic globalization, only 20% of people will be able to ride the express train of globalization all the way to success. The other 80% will be marginalized.
This is what's known as the '80/20 phenomenon.'
How can we get this 80% to accept their lot, avoid making trouble, and stay out of the way? Society needs enough mass entertainment to stuff a 'pacifier' into their mouths and keep them blissfully entertained.", The Pacifier Theory
Theme: We share one another's joys and sorrows.
