Wei Binghe, nicknamed Hedgehog, lost his father at a young age and was raised by his mother, who ran a bookstore. At seventeen, Hedgehog finishes his college entrance exams and gets into his dream university, only for his mother to die in a car accident. With no family left, he decides to sell the bookstore and start a new life. One rainy day, a strange customer comes into the shop to take shelter. Summer ends, and Hedgehog begins university life, never imagining he'd meet the customer from that rainy day again. Through a wonderful twist of fate, they become part of each other's lives, protect one another, and grow together. Along the way, they each find peace with their families of origin.
Theme: In life, we will always meet people we never expected. And somehow, that very person is the one who protects us, just as we protect them. Together, we declare war on life, then make peace with it.
