My main focus will be the other story, The Alien Girl...] Blurb: Chen Ju ju accidentally finds a book called The Classic of Seas and Mountains. From then on, every time she falls asleep, she inexplicably enters the book. The world inside is bizarre and wonderful. There's a monkey-headed, dog-bodied monster whose laughter makes gold coins fall out; a fish-headed, lion-bodied spirit whose snot can generate electricity; a snake-tailed, bird-bodied monster whose plucked feathers bring rain; a two-headed leopard that farts out grain; and even creatures that can pee nuclear fuel... Chen Ju ju wakes up in fright and finds a strange-looking mushroom in her hand. After consulting The Classic of Seas and Mountains, she discovers that eating the mushroom will make someone pregnant with twins without harming their health. She cooks it into soup and gives it to her aunt, who is forty and has never had a child. The next day, her aunt starts suffering from morning sickness, just as expected. At the time, the world is on the brink of running out of energy. It rains only once every three years, food is scarce, and the harvest has failed completely. There's not enough electricity, and many regions have been without power for years. The supplies Chen Ju ju brings back from the book can change all that! So, to escape poverty and build a better life, she... Steals feathers to make it rain and ease the drought! Collects grain to plant crops and fend off famine! Collects snot to generate electricity and restore power! Steals gold to exchange for money and help refugees! Content notes: 1. There is a male lead, but he's mostly in the background, and the romance is not a major focus. 2. The process of turning things in may be slow, but the story focuses more on the process. 3. Experts studying alien civilizations soon arrive, set up a security cordon, and draw a huge crowd. Unaware of what is happening, Shen Yao thinks she's under attack. She turns her rest pod into a combat pod, and a fight is about to break out. Then a spectator accidentally slips and falls off a cliff, about to be smashed to pieces. Shen Yao flies out of her ship and rescues him. Only then do both sides realize that neither means any harm. Later, at the negotiating table, Shen Yao says, "I can offer my powers to help you fight your enemy nation, but I need your supplies to help me rebuild my home!" Theme: Give of yourself to society.
