Lin Li lived on a mountain with her master for over ten years. She never had to worry about food or clothes, and her life was orderly.
Because of a childhood trauma, she had stockpiled plenty of supplies in her little house, giving herself a deep sense of security.
She never expected to wake up in a building she had never seen before.
She opened the door. The hallway was pitch-black and seemed to stretch on forever. Outside the window, screams rang out without end, and corpses littered the ground.
The phone in her hand lit up, its screen drenched in red: Welcome to the [Neighborhood Survival Guide] game mode. A zombie virus has broken out in the neighborhood, and you are trapped inside your home. You can only earn points by taking part in game instances, then exchange them for supplies and survive!
Lin Li had never played a game like this, and she hadn't seen the rules either. But after looking over the few supplies left in the house, three barrels of water and a bag of instant noodles, she pressed [Start Game] with a thoughtful look.
...Seven days later, Lin Li was teleported back by the System.
Carrying a huge box of supplies, she was thoroughly satisfied. "So that's how you play. I've got it now."
Lin Li: You can get stuff just by playing games? I can't believe my luck!

"Congratulations, resident. You have survived for three days."
After finally fighting tooth and nail through his first instance, the man had barely survived the NPCs' attacks. He exchanged his points for four pieces of bread, and his phone displayed a notification: "The Good Neighbor channel is now open."
Clutching at hope, he carefully made his way upstairs, hoping to trade with his neighbor for a bottle of water.
The instant he looked up, he froze. More than a dozen barrels of bottled water were stacked at the top of the stairs. Flour and rice were piled high, and the few pots of lush green vegetables by the door looked absolutely mouthwatering.
Inside, a young woman was boiling a steaming hot pot while expressionlessly wiping down a knife.
With trembling hands, the man opened the app. In the announcements, he saw a photo identical to the girl's, with a line of red text underneath: This player has repeatedly looted instance rewards and NPCs' personal belongings. They have been blacklisted by multiple instances. All players are advised to stay alert!
The girl looked up. "Want some?"
...Should he be scared first, or swallow his saliva first?
Never mind, he should cling to her first!

Why Are They Afraid of Me When I'm Just Making Reasonable Use of Game Resources?
Lin Li: Sure, I loot instances, rob NPCs, and survive until the last day, when the System kicks me out. But I know I'm a good player.
Reader's Guide:
1. The instances involve survival, escape, and horror. They all have one thing in common: staying alive.
2. The male lead will most likely appear in the middle or later part of the story. He is not the one in the blurb.
3. The female lead is knowledgeable about survival and very capable. She is her own golden finger.
4. The female lead is a formidable ordinary person, not an overpowered wish-fulfillment character. She grows and accumulates experience. She doesn't start out at her peak, and her development takes time.
Theme: United, we can overcome hardship and find our way out.
