Everyone knows that Song Yuezhou is the top student at A University: rich, handsome, and well-mannered, a true untouchable beauty. The girls who pursue him could line up all the way to the Literature Department next door.
Wen Qiao is one of the many admirers in the Literature Department.
Unfortunately, before her feelings could even begin to blossom, he went abroad to study.

When they meet again, Wen Qiao is an HR employee handling the onboarding of a highly paid overseas returnee whom her boss recruited from abroad.
A tall, handsome young man walks into the office. When he sees her, he gives a slight nod in greeting. His suit is neat and crisp, his manner gentle yet distant, just as it was back then, as if they were strangers.
"Hello, I'm Song Yuezhou."
Wen Qiao feels a little disappointed, but pretends to be calm as she completes his paperwork.
That evening, someone knocks on the door of Apartment 801 in the employee residence.
Outside stands the impeccably dressed man from earlier. His tie is slightly loosened, his suit jacket draped over one arm, and he holds a suitcase in the other hand. He pauses in the hallway, looking a little tipsy. His tall shadow falls over Wen Qiao as he glances sideways and spots her boyfriend lounging on the sofa behind her, happily munching on potato chips.
"The boss asked me to stay in the employee residence for a while."
He gives a brief explanation and looks away. For some reason, Wen Qiao suddenly feels guilty. She hurriedly pulls her boyfriend, who has dropped by for a visit, over to make introductions.
In front of him, she feels like a student who has done something wrong.
Wen Qiao has always thought the two of them weren't close.
Until one day, she comes out of the shower with her hair dripping wet. Song Yuezhou, wearing comfortable home clothes, naturally picks up a towel and lays it over her shoulders, gently rubbing her hair dry from the ends.
Realizing they've gotten too close, Wen Qiao decides to move out of the apartment to avoid any misunderstandings. In the stuffy, humid rainy season, she sweats as she loads her belongings into the car. Just as she's about to get in, a large hand grabs her wrist. The man runs over from a distance, raindrops clinging to his long eyelashes.
He gasps for breath, his usual composure gone.
"Do you really not have even the slightest bit of affection for me? Not even a little?"
He has waited so long, but not for her to become someone else's wife.

Song Yuezhou is old-fashioned at heart and sticks to rules and conventions. His friends tease him for being a relic of feudal society. Then one day, at a private gathering, he proudly announces that he's in a relationship. Everyone finally understands: he left his luxury apartment to live in the employee residence because he was trying to pick up a girl!
"Song Yuezhou, you bastard! You're the other man in someone else's relationship!"
Wen Qiao's ex-boyfriend barges in. Under everyone's astonished gaze, Song Yuezhou takes Wen Qiao's hand and places a gentle kiss on its back. His voice carries a smug note: "Sorry, I'm the one who's officially hers."
