[The first stirrings of love in youth are like a shooting star crossing the night sky: brief, yet brilliant.] [Astronomy PhD student x male director] [Free to read in full] [Blurb One] Hao Meng first noticed Gu Qiming at their high school graduation dinner. As they left the restaurant, the class president suggested going to karaoke and singing all night. Everyone agreed, except him. He had somewhere to be that night. A classmate asked what could possibly be so important. Gu Qiming's voice was cool and clear. "I'm going to watch the stars." His answer was like a comet, gently crashing into the girl's dreams. Eight years later, they met again at a popular science lecture. By then, she was a PhD student at the National Astronomical Observatories of China, while he was studying directing at the Capital Film Academy. Hao Meng said, "I still remember that night eight years ago, when you said you were going back to watch the stars." Gu Qiming froze, hesitating before he spoke. "...Back then, I was really curious about how Korean dramas were filmed, so I spent that whole period studying them shot by shot." Hao Meng: "..." Gu Qiming: "Have you heard of the Korean drama My Love from the Star?" [Blurb Two] In the finals of Director's Starting Line, the young director Gu Qiming presented his most satisfying work to date: A Dream Come True. The film tells the story of a romantic dialogue between an astronomy researcher and the cosmos. His fans all say it's a love letter Gu Qiming wrote to the stars. But on the awards stage at Cannes, Gu Qiming answered solemnly in front of reporters from all over the world: "This love letter is for my wife, Dr. Hao. She's my stargazer, and she's my Morning Star." [Bonus Scene] One night, somewhere, beneath a patch of starry sky. Hao Meng said, "I've always loved your name." Gu Qiming asked why. Hao Meng replied, "The Morning Star is an ancient name for Venus. When Venus rises above the horizon, it means the night is about to end." She raised a hand and pointed to the sparkling star in the night sky. "Gu Qiming, look. It's almost dawn." "To someone, you are the center of the universe.
